Reasoning: Data set names can be 1-32 characters long and
consists and begin with alphanumeric characters and underscores.

then why is A wrong?
_Set looks like a correct libref to me.
so _Set.name should be correct also.

cannot use a "."

special characters are not allowed except underscore. So _Set.name is not correct as it contains '.' period.
