Which statement can be used to save storage space for the dataset when the values of a SAS Variable are all integers?

a) Trim
b) Retain

The Length statement is used to save storage space when the values of SAS variables are all integers...

SAS has a default length of 8 bytes for Characters and Numerics... A look at the documentation @

http://support.sas.com/onlinedoc/913/getDoc/en/hostwin.hlp/numvar.htm

A byte length of 5 can accommodate a number of 536,870,912...If your maximum number is less than that then assign a length of 5 to your numeric variable...

So you can cut down on space....
